TSMC, Bosch, Infineon and NXP Enter Joint Venture to Build $11 Billion Plant in Germany

(By VIVIAN MEDITHI, Published August 08, 2023) Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC (TSM), along with Bosch, Infineon, and NXP, will build a multibillion-dollar chip factory in Dresden, Germany, the companies announced Tuesday. The deal to create the European Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (ESMC) GmbH plant is part of a joint venture that will be 70% owned by TSMC, with Infineon (IFNNY), NXP (NXPI), and Bosch holding 10% equity apiece.
